Dear Players and Parents,
Tomorrow, 19 March 2016, is the last session before Easter and we will resume again on
16 April with the next series of 10 coaching sessions.
I am very pleased to announce that the club will have a new lead coach
starting on 16 April, with Chris Gorman joining us. Some of you will
have met Chris last week and will already have an idea of the qualities
he will bring to the club. Chris is a qualified England Squash coach,
plays to a very high standard and has an excellent reputation in the
local area. He comes very highly recommended from his work with the
juniors at Biddenden, where he coaches during the week. The club is
delighted to have his services and is convinced he will be an very good
asset to the junior coaching team.
Mike will continue as coach, providing support to Chris (as will I), but
has been thinking about lightening his coaching load for some time. This
has given him the opportunity. Mike was instrumental in setting up and
developing the junior coaching at Poult Wood and has give a significant
amount of time over many years. We all have a lot to thank him for and
are very pleased he is continuing to coach and support the club. This
will make a smooth transition to Chris’s leadership and ensure, by
having me and Mike supporting Chris, that all sessions are fully
covered. Matt White will also continue to support with coaching when needed.
I will write again with information on the new term. Meanwhile, Mike and
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
With effect from 1st March 2016, the times that can be booked on each court are being amended as follows:
Courts 1 & 2 bookable on the hour at 17.00,18.00,19,00 and 20.00
Courts 3 & 4 bookable on the half hour at 16.30, 17.30, 18.30, 19.30 and 20.30
All bookings are for an hour
I hope you are all in the festive spirit, and not going slightly mad under all the pressure!
Next Wednesday we will be holding our normal club night, it will start from 19.00 until late,
on court 3 and 4. There will be mince pies and drinks afterwards.
Mike Tonge will be present so we can have some special ‘lose that turkey fat’ training!
See you there………and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The next Junior coaching sessions will run from 9th January to 19 March inclusive, with a short break for half term on 13th and 20th February.
The cost is £60 for 10 weeks, plus the annual junior club membership of £12.
If you are interested in coming along on a Saturday morning please contact Tony Hooper on 07748 623129 (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mike Tonge on 07925 829778.

With Max’s retirement, I am pleased to announce that his last action was to convince Dave Worrall to take over the captaincy role. Dave plays as our first in the team and has been part of Max’s team for approximately 6 years.
We wish him well in the role.
As a club we are in need for more players to come forward to represent the club in the racketball team. attend and have a try out for the team
Please consider this request open to all local players who may not be affiliated to our club at the moment, but whom you may play friendly’s with.
