With Max’s retirement, I am pleased to announce that his last action was to convince Dave Worrall to take over the captaincy role. Dave plays as our first in the team and has been part of Max’s team for approximately 6 years.
We wish him well in the role.
As a club we are in need for more players to come forward to represent the club in the racketball team. If you are interested in team representation and haven’t tried Racketball, we will be holding a racketball dedicated night in the coming month, date tbc, please reply to me and Dave (email@example.com) if you are interested to
attend and have a try out for the team
Please consider this request open to all local players who may not be affiliated to our club at the moment, but whom you may play friendly’s with.
Every club have a handful of dedicated members who give years of support and energy to the cause. Through that support, time and effort, given voluntary, the club benefits.
For our club, Max Penna is such a member. He has given a huge amount of time and dedication. Max has decided to hang up his rackets, mainly due to a recent injury.
Having been with the club for 25 years, playing in both squash and racketball teams, he has been the captain of the racquetball team for the last decade, and also won a few club trophies along the way.
It’s a great shame to see him go but we wish him well and thank him, and his wife…., for dedicating so much time to Poult Wood and literally putting the R in PWSRC.
Good Luck Max.
Andrew and all at PWSRC
Its club night this Wednesday from 19.00, as normal it will be on courts 3 and 4.
There will be drinks in the bar afterwards.
It’s been commented that some players struggle to arrive at 19.00, I’m normally one of them. It really isn’t necessary to arrive on time the evening is fluid and attendance is appreciated more than being punctual.
Hope to see you there.

We are pleased to announce that Poult Wood Squash & Racketball Club has been awarded Silver Clubmark status by England Squash & Racketball. This is great news for the club which reflects our continued development including the recent court refurbishments, new catering management and the continued success of our juniors and our Juniors coaching programme.
The Clubmark Award is a Sport England scheme administered by the National Governing Bodies. It recognises and values the commitments made by sports clubs to develop high quality, welcoming environments for young participants.
Being awarded the Silver Clubmark award is a significant achievement and is official recognition that PWSRC has excellent facilities, offers a welcoming environment, sets high standards in child protection, and works closely with local schools to develop the future generations of squash and racketball players.
