The next Club Night will be held on Wednesday the 25/02/15. All are welcome, with a free drink in the bar afterwards.
On the 28/01/15 the club held our 2014 finals night, it was a great evening with 3 competitive matches.
In the Squash Handicap Mark Crichton won 3-2 against Simon Wanford, Mark was also the victor against Mike Tonge in the Squash Challenge Final and Dave Worrall continued his run of winning the Racketball final against team Captain Max Penna.
Well done to all who attended, played and won!
Please remember to come along on Wednesday the 26/11/14. Mike Tonge, the club coach, will
be in attendance for coaching and also the blip test. Starts 7pm on court 3 and 4.
The position of Membership secretary is vacant due to Mark Bass’ retirement from the
club. Mark has been a bedrock at the club for over 20 years and it will be sad to see him
go but we wish him well and thank him for all his hard work through the years.
Good luck Mark and Cheers!
This years AGM will be held on the 18/11/14 in bar, at the clubhouse, from 20.00.
Positions we are looking to fill are Secretary and Membership Secretary. Both roles
may well be rolled into a single position.
Please attend the AGM, it is a key part of the annual schedule and your opportunity
to have a voice in the club.
This months club night will be held on Wednesday the 29th of Oct.
It will be great to see you all there or at least a decent percentage!
Mike Tonge and Tony Hooper continue to run a very successful junior programme on Saturday mornings. 24 players are taking part with ages from 6 to 17. Anna Hooper won the plate competition at the Kent Closed tournament on Sunday 21 September. Having lost her first match, Anna went on to win her next 3 matches in the Girls U15 competition. She has also been selected for the Girls U15 County squad and is currently playing at No4.
Another great effort from the junior section of the club, well done Anna!
Poultwood Juniors finished runners up in the Boddington Trophy B competition at Rodmersham on Saturday. The team comprising of Oliver Briggs, Henry Johnson, Anna Hooper and James Johnson enjoyed a clean sweep of wins in the divisional competition and only narrowly lost out to Maidstone in the final on count back (having drawn 2-2 in the final but conceding more games to the opposition). The Boddington Trophy is an annual county wide junior competition run by the Kent Squash and Racquets Association.
Great performance from ALL involved, well done.
