Mike Tonge and Tony Hooper continue to run a very successful junior programme on Saturday mornings. 24 players are taking part with ages from 6 to 17. There are 4 spaces remaining, for beginners and improvers. The coaches are particularly keen to welcome beginners of 8 years old and under, with 3 spaces available. Anna Hooper won the plate competition at the Kent Closed tournament on Sunday 21 September. Having lost her first match, Anna went on to win her next 3 matches in the Girls U15 competition. She has also been selected for the Girls U15 County squad and is currently playing at No4.
Another great effort from the junior section of the club, well done Anna!
Poultwood Juniors finished runners up in the Boddington Trophy B competition at Rodmersham on Saturday. The team comprising of Oliver Briggs, Henry Johnson, Anna Hooper and James Johnson enjoyed a clean sweep of wins in the divisional competition and only narrowly lost out to Maidstone in the final on count back (having drawn 2-2 in the final but conceding more games to the opposition). The Boddington Trophy is an annual county wide junior competition run by the Kent Squash and Racquets Association.
Great performance from ALL involved, well done.
The final of the Challenge cup,between Ben and Mark, was played at the May club night. It was a tight and exciting match with Mark eventually winning 3-2. Congratulations to Mark!

Congratulations to Gavin Lingard for winning the 2013 Poultwood handicap competition on the Feb club night. The final was won 2-0 in a best of 3 to 15 PARS match against the club treasurer, David Copsey. It was nice to see some new faces in the final. Photos to come once Cup has been handed in.
The night was a bumper affair with an exhibition match between 2 ranked players, James Evans and Colin Payne, former top 50 world player. The match was excellent to watch and enjoyed by all who came. Thank you to James and Colin for attending and for Mike Tonge for organizing.
